Campfire Program

Sitting around the campfire, being able to see and converse with everyone on equal footing ... inclusivity is what I want for everyone.

The Reverend Canon Stephen B. Swann, ESD Founding Rector and HeadmasteR

Today, Head of School David Baad carries Father Swann's vision forward with The Campfire Program.

In the spirit of Father Swann’s vision, ESD’s Campfire Program was created to ensure that our community is a place in which all members of an increasingly diverse student body feel included. Its mission is to help new and current students and families successfully transition into ESD and enjoy a fulfilling experience throughout their time here. This program does not replace affinity groups nor will it substitute for the advisory program that every ESD student is a part of. Instead, Campfire works in cooperation with these programs.

Participants self-identify and enroll for the program during the admission process. Benefits include:

  • On-boarding into the ESD community
  • Ongoing social and academic guidance
  • Campfire family events

The Campfire Program is not a tuition assistance program. However, participants may apply for and receive tuition assistance, if qualified, through the normal process.
