About this Award

ESD’s Distinguished Alumni Award recognizes an individual who has lived a life of purpose and achieved exceptional notoriety in their field, whether professionally, in the armed forces, or through service to their community. This award is designed to honor the accomplishments of our alumni and to inspire the next generation of Eagles to exemplify the mission of ESD.

General Questions

Who is eligible for the Distinguished Alumni Award?
Individuals who are graduates of The Episcopal School of Dallas are eligible to receive the award. There is not a minimum age or class year requirement for eligibility.
How often is the award given?
The award will be presented to only one recipient per calendar year, but will not necessarily be awarded on an annual basis.
How are the nominees selected?
ESD's Alumni Board of Directors is responsible for reviewing submissions for the award and selecting the recipient based on the award's criteria.
What are the criteria for selecting the recipient?
When nominating a candidate, the following criteria should be used for consideration: Has this individual made a truly exceptional impact in their professional field? Has this person lived a Life of Purpose, exemplifying ESD’s mission? Has this person achieved something unique in their field or community?

Nomination Process

How do I nominate someone for the award?
Nominations will only be accepted through the online Distinguished Alumni Award Nomination Form. There is not a limit on the number of alumni you can nominate for the award.
What is the deadline for nominations?
Nominations will close on Wednesday, December 18.
Can I nominate myself for the award?
Yes, self-nominations for the award will be considered.
